Golf

There are three golf courses within 45 minutes of Moonstone Cottage.

Ponte de Lima golf course is situated just outside the beautiful historic town of Ponte de Lima on the river Lima in Portugal. Opened in 1995 it is the most northerly golf course in Portugal set deep in the Costa Verde about 12 miles inland from the sea.

The location is a wooded mountain area which divides into two distinct areas. The first nine holes run up and over a steeply sloped forested mountainside and is in complete contrast with the second nine holes which  run over a level parkland area negotiating a series of lakes and winding streams.

The designers, Portugal’s best known professional players, Daniel and David Silva, have made some daunting and highly playable challenges. But the holes are very fair providing exciting and enjoyable golf.

Facilities include a pro shop, cart, trolley hire and equipment hire, tuition, driving range, chipping practice area and putting green, changing facilities, bar and restaurant in the clubhouse.

Campo de Golf at Mondariz in Spain is part of a health spa where, after hard game of golf its possible to soak in the waters at Balneario de Mondariz. Here there is a water palace with water beds, waterfalls, jacuzzies, hydromassage, saunas and many other treatments to try out.

Moaña golf course is situated near Vigo and golfers maybe forgiven if they lose concentration for a moment as they take in the breathtaking views over the Ria of Vigo.
